Active processing of a vehicle from Switzerland with import into Germany
The costs for this procedure are a total of CHF 390 for customs clearance.

Please keep in mind that the German wage costs are taxed in Switzerland and the new material must be cleared for import into Switzerland (customs rate approx. 15 CHF/100 kg) and taxed (7.7% VAT). However, you could do this after the vehicle has been exported from Germany get the German VAT charged by the seller back.

If we are allowed to take over customs clearance, We still need further information and documents:
- where does the finishing take place (company address + contact details)?
- what is the EORI number of this company?
- When should the transport to Germany take place?
- over which border should the transport take place?
- How long does the active processing process take?
- Copy of the vehicle registration document as a scan
- If possible, cost estimate as a scan
- attached active customs processing power of attorney from the Swiss client (Download AV power of attorney to be completed by the Swiss client)
- If there is an appraisal or other old purchase contract

You would then have to deposit a security in the amount of any possible import taxes (approx. 31%) on the current value of the vehicle at the German customs office for the duration of the processing. Alternatively If the garage in Germany could also fill out the customs clearance authority (instead of you), then only 10% customs duties would have to be deposited (Download AV power of attorney to be filled out by the German processing company).

In summary, we need the import authority either from you or from the German processing company, but we MANDATORY need the export customs clearance authority from the German processing company (Download export power of attorney to be completed by the German processing company).

For information: After the processing has taken place in Germany, you would have to go to the customs office within the opening hours of the responsible internal customs office in Germany before you can drive back to the border. However, if it is not a short-term processing operation, we can register it so that someone drives from the customs office to the processing plant - then the trip to the internal customs office is no longer necessary.

Furthermore, we generally always need the following information, unless
this can be found in the vehicle registration document or other documents:
- Displacement in cc
- Fuel, e.g. diesel or petrol
- Mileage
- Curb weight
- Chassis number
- First registration
- Is the vehicle new or used?
- Does the vehicle have air conditioning?
- Does the vehicle have any other defects? If so, which ones?
- Are there tires/wheels or accessories in the vehicle?
If so, are these complete wheels on aluminum rims or steel rims?
- When should customs clearance take place?
- At which customs office should customs clearance take place?

 

We would like to point out that the customs office may request further documents such as a vehicle report.
